Biography
Philip Sherman (Guest Countertenor)
Philip Sherman, a native of Greenwich, Connecticut, has been singing in choirs since the
first grade. Since arriving in Washington five years ago, he has sung with the choirs of
St. Paul’s K St, St. Paul’s Rock Creek Parish, and now at Washington National Cathedral,
where he has been singing for the past three years. An International Affairs student at the
George Washington University, he speaks French and Swedish fluently and is currently
learning German. He is the music director and a founding member of GWU’s premier all-male
a cappella group the Sons of Pitch, winners of both the annual Battle of the A Cappella Groups competition and the
Students’ Choice for Performance Group of the Year award.
