
Biography
Kathryn Mueller: (Soprano)
Kathryn sings a wide range of vocal repertoire, from the medieval period to the twentieth century,
though she is particularly admired for her performances of the Renaissance and Baroque styles.
She has performed as a soloist in Bach’s Cantata 74 with the Washington Bach Consort (Washington,
DC), Mozart’s Exsultate, jubilate with the Quincy Symphony (Boston), and Schubert’s Mirjams
Siegegesang with the University of Arizona’s Arizona Choir. In the spring of 2005 she sang the role of
Monica in Menotti's opera The Medium, and was a soloist in Bach's St. Matthew Passion with the Arizona Choir and
Symphony Orchestra. Upcoming engagements include a solo recital on the Arizona Early Music Society's Hausmusik
concert series.
Ms. Mueller is also in demand as an ensemble singer with some of the finest choral ensembles in the country. In the
summer of 2005 she will join the 20-voice Santa Fe Desert Chorale for its series of concerts in Santa Fe and Albuquerque,
NM. Kathryn is a member of the Handel and Haydn Society (Boston) and Washington Bach Consort choruses, and has
sung with the Schola Cantorum of Boston, the Woodley Ensemble (Washington, DC), and with many of the professional
church choirs in Washington, DC, including the National Cathedral Choir. Kathryn is also a member of the Countertop
Quartet, an ensemble of high voices based in Washington, DC.
Ms. Mueller spent a summer in Salzburg, Austria, where she studied Lieder with Norman Shetler at the Internationale
Sommerakademie Mozarteum. Ms. Mueller holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Brown University, and is currently
studying for her master’s degree in vocal performance at the University of Arizona. She also teaches early childhood music
classes, and sings opera with first graders as part of the Opening Minds Through the Arts program in the Tucson public
schools.
